MOVE CHARITY

Dedicated to supporting children & young people living with cancer through the power of exercise and sport.

Since Move started 7 young people between the ages of 7 & 24 are diagnosed with cancer every single day and have to face an extremely tough journey. For young people there is so much thrown at them both physically and mentally during their treatment and it doesn’t just stop there.Life goes on after cancer and we want to support young people as much as possible to encourage a healthy and active lifestyle both during and after treatment so they can work towards getting their live’s back on track and look forward to a brighter future.

The Location – Prestwold Hall

This magnificent house was largely remodelled in 1843 by William Burn and has been the home of the Packe family for 350 years. The first Packe to occupy the Hall was Sir Christopher Packe, later a Cromwellian peer and one of the city men behind Oliver Cromwell, who in many ways were responsible for the efficient functioning of the Commonwealth Government. Knighted at the time of his Mayoralty of London, Christopher Packe was foremost in pressing the ‘petition and advice’ desiring the Protector to assume the title of the King.
